ENJOY THE EYRE PENINSULA

The Eyre Peninsula is known as Australia's Seafood Frontier due to it's variety of fresh seafood. If you're after an adventure, you've come to the right place. Shark cage diving and swimming with sea lions are among the Eyre Peninsula's most memorable experiences.

Eyre Peninsula Seafood Trail

Producing more than 60 percent of South Australia’s seafood, the Eyre Peninsula is seafood heaven! The trail guides visitors to the best restaurants around the region or straight to the producer. Try oysters, abalone, prawns, tuna, rock lobster and countless other delicious cold-water fish. Visit the Fresh Fish Place to learn about the industry and get involved in a cooking Masterclass.

Shark Cage Diving

The pristine waters near the Neptune Islands provide one of the best places to view a great white shark. Take a charter from Port Lincoln and feel the exhilaration as these majestic creatures sail past, all from the safety of a cage.

Whale Watching

From May to October each year, southern right whales make their way to the warmer waters off the Nullabor Plain coastline. Head of Bight is the most accessible place to view these marvellous creatures, while a whale watching cruise from Fowlers Bay is one step better.

Swim with Sea Lions and Dolphins

Playful sea lions and frisky dolphins can all be seen in the waters off Port Lincoln, Eyre Peninsula. Take a chartered tour, don a wetsuit and hop in the water for an up-close experience.

Fishing

Whether you’re on the water in a boat or fishing charter, or throwing in a line off a jetty or beach, fishing opportunities are to be had all along the Eyre Peninsula.  Try your luck for the freshest of King George whiting and garfish.  Head out a bit further for monster snappers! If you want to learn about the industry instead of diving into it, enjoy a Fred’s Marina Boat Cruise and here all the local fisherman tales.

Beaches

With a coastline stretching 2000 kilometres, you'll be sure to find a beach you love. From Arno Bay on the east side of the peninsula to Venus Bay on the west, many of the beaches are vast, beautiful and never crowded.
